GIBO Sensor Trash Can Feature Overview
How Sensor-Activated Trash Cans Work:
The automatic sensor trash can is controlled by a microcontroller chip and consists of an infrared detection unit and a motor drive system. Like urinal sensors, sensor faucets, and squat pan sensors, it operates on the principle of infrared reflection. When a person enters the detection range, the IR emitter sends a signal that reflects off the body to the IR receiver. The microcontroller processes this reflected signal and sends an open/close command to the motor control system, which then executes the lid opening and closing actions. The lid closes automatically several seconds after the object or hand leaves the detection zone. It requires no external power supply, operating on low-consumption batteries. Featuring a sleek, streamlined design with an infrared-sensing flip-lid mechanism driven by a microcomputer, it offers flexible convenience—allowing hands-free and foot-free waste disposal. Additionally, its hygienic operation and reliable performance help effectively prevent contact-based infections.

This product operates on 4 AA batteries and features infrared sensor-activated automatic lid opening. The lid opens automatically when a hand or object approaches the disposal port (sensor window) within approximately 15 cm, and closes once waste is deposited, ensuring fully touchless operation. With low operating costs, a single set of batteries lasts approximately 6 months under typical usage conditions (20 openings per day). Manual open/close functionality is also available.
