Common Troubleshooting Methods for Squat Pan Sensor Flush Valves in Engineering Projects

Common Troubleshooting Methods for Sensor Flush Valves in Squat Pan Installations: What are the common faults of squat pan sensors? What issues may occur with sensor-operated toilets? How to repair a faulty sensor squat pan? What to do if the sensor flush valve malfunctions?


If a fault occurs during the commissioning or use of a sensor-operated toilet flush valve, first check whether the water supply and power supply (battery) are functioning properly. If it is confirmed that the issue is not caused by water source or power problems, remove the sensor panel and refer to the "Common Fault Troubleshooting for Sensor Sanitary Ware" checklist below. For component names and positions, please refer to the "Sensor Sanitary Ware Product Exploded View." If the fault persists after following the troubleshooting steps, cannot be resolved, or the cause remains unclear, please close the angle stop valve on the sensor toilet flush valve, then contact GIBO After-Sales Service at 4006622163 for maintenance advice or to request an inspection.

Common Fault Troubleshooting Methods for Sensor Toilet Flush Valve Projects and Usage

◆ (1) Continuous Flowing Water (Troubleshooting Steps)

First, disconnect the power adapter (battery) and the solenoid valve lead connector from the sensor sanitary ware. Remove the sensor panel and shut off the bathroom water supply valve to stop the flow.

 (1) Check if there are construction sand or debris inside the sensor flush valve's solenoid valve body that are jamming the solenoid piston, causing continuous flowing water

a Use an adjustable wrench to open the "Solenoid Valve Cover" of the sensor toilet, and remove the "Solenoid Valve Piston".

b Inspect the flush valve body for foreign objects such as sand, stones, or fibers, and clean them out. Gently tap the valve and rinse the solenoid valve body cavity with a small amount of clean water until clean.

c Examine the removed solenoid valve piston; check the filter screen and rubber diaphragm for dirt and clean them thoroughly with a soft brush.

d Reassemble the components in reverse order (refer to the product exploded view). When assembling the "Solenoid Valve Piston," ensure it is placed parallel into the valve body with appropriate force.

e Finally, reconnect the power adapter (battery) and the solenoid valve lead connector, replace the panel, and test the operation.

(2) Check the Solenoid Valve Coil Assembly of the Sensor Toilet

 If the "Solenoid Valve Iron Core" and "Rubber Diaphragm" within the "Solenoid Valve Coil Assembly" are clogged with construction mud or sand, it may cause continuous flowing water.

a Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the four fixing screws and remove the "Solenoid Valve Coil Head." (Note: Ensure the integrity of all parts in the sensor toilet solenoid valve assembly to prevent loss of components).

b Clean the solenoid valve iron core, rubber diaphragm, and valve body seat with clean water.

c Reassemble the solenoid valve components in reverse order (refer to the product exploded view) and secure them with screws.

d Finally, connect the power adapter (battery box) and the solenoid valve lead connector, replace the panel, and test the operation.

(3) Check Connectors and Sensor Module of the Sensor Sanitary Ware

Check if all connectors are tight and making good contact. Check if the sensor window of the toilet sensor has any dirt.

a Check if the connection plugs between the power adapter (battery), solenoid valve, and sensor module of the squat pan sensor are tight and making good contact.

b Check if the surface of the sensor module window has dirt. If so, wipe it clean with a soft damp cloth using neutral detergent.

◆ (2) No Flushing (Troubleshooting Steps)

(1) Check the Water Supply Valve and Flow Adjustment Knob

Ensure the inlet pipe valve is open. Check the flow adjustment knob on the solenoid valve of the squat pan sensor. If closed, open the water inlet valve and the solenoid valve flow adjustment knob. (Turn the knob counter-clockwise until the valve is fully open). (Illustration)

(2) Check Power Supply or Battery

If no flushing occurs, observe the sensor indicator light. During normal operation, the red indicator light should flash once after sensing for 3-4 seconds. If the light does not flash or flashes continuously, check or replace the power supply (power adapter or battery).

(3) Check the Sensor Module

Verify if the sensor module of the squat pan sensor flush valve is working correctly. In normal operation, when a person enters the detection range, the indicator light will flash once after approximately 3-4 seconds, indicating detection. After the person leaves, there is a delay of 3-4 seconds before the sensor initiates a normal flush.

  ◆(2) Weak Flush Volume (Troubleshooting Steps)  

(1) Check the Water Supply Valve and Flow Adjustment Knob

Ensure the water supply pipe valve is fully open. Measure the water pressure to confirm it is normal (minimum pressure should be greater than 0.14 MPa). Check if the flow adjustment knob on the solenoid valve of the sensor squat pan is fully open. (Turn the knob counter-clockwise until the valve is fully open).

(2) Check Water Supply Pipes and Filtration System for Blockages

Inspect the water supply pipes and filtration system for blockages caused by sand, stones, or other debris.

(3) Check the Rubber Diaphragm of the Solenoid Valve Piston in the Squat Pan Sensor

    Use an adjustable wrench to open the "Solenoid Valve Cover" and remove the "Solenoid Valve Piston." Check if the "Rubber Diaphragm" of the sensor squat pan solenoid valve piston is deformed, damaged, cracked, or hardened. If so, replace it with a new "Solenoid Valve Piston" to resolve the fault.
