Toilet Sensor Requirements for Pipe Flow Rate and Pressure
Toilet sensors are designed to meet the demands of complex flushing environments, imposing stringent requirements on pipe layout, water pressure, flow rate, and instantaneous flow.
1. Main pipe diameter: DN40; inlet pipe diameter: DN25. Plan the pipe layout before installation to minimize bends and avoid consecutive sharp turns, which severely affect flushing performance. Calculate the main pipe diameter based on the number of squatting positions: use DN25 for one position, DN32 for 2–4 positions, and DN40 for more than four positions. The main pipe should be installed at a height of 1,200 mm above the floor tiles. Poor flushing in many public restrooms is often due to inadequate pipe design, where insufficient flow rate or pressure results in incomplete cleaning.
2. Water Pressure: 0.3–0.8 MPa. Use of sensor-operated toilets below 0.3 MPa is not recommended due to suboptimal user experience. Install a booster pump if necessary; note that booster pumps have specific requirements for head and flow rate—please consult your booster pump supplier for details.
3. Instantaneous Flow Rate: >1.5 L. The instantaneous flow rate is a key performance indicator for toilet flush sensors. Many units fail to deliver an effective flush because they cannot provide maximum water volume when the valve opens, resulting in poor cleaning performance. When selecting a toilet sensor, please pay close attention to the instantaneous flow rate specification to ensure reliable operation.
4. Flow Rate: 6–9 L per flush cycle. The GIBO squat pan sensor delivers an 8-second flush to ensure sufficient water volume for effective cleaning of the squat pan. A built-in water-saving mode helps conserve water in real time.
MPa is a unit of pressure; 0.1 MPa equals 1 bar (kgf/cm²). Note: Municipal water supply pressure typically averages 0.18 MPa (1.8 bar). To ensure optimal flushing performance and user experience, please verify that the pipeline pressure exceeds 0.3 MPa before installing sensor-operated toilets or Smart Toilets (flushing effectiveness may be reduced below 0.3 MPa).
