What IP Rating Can Sensor Faucets Achieve?

What waterproof rating can sensor faucets achieve? What IP protection level do sensor faucets reach?

 All GIBO sensor faucet products adopt a waterproof design philosophy. The sensing module, solenoid valve, power components, control box assembly, and connecting cables are all designed for water resistance, with certain parts achieving an IP67 waterproof rating.

1. The sensing circuit and module feature a three-layer waterproof design: PCBA conformal coating + PCBA epoxy potting + sensing window grille potting. After this three-step waterproofing process, the sensing module achieves an IP67 rating;

2. The solenoid valve uses potting technology and O-ring sealing structure, achieving a waterproof rating of IP65 or higher;

3. Battery boxes, power components, and control box assemblies are designed for moisture resistance. Battery encapsulation provides specific protective capabilities, and rubber overflow gaskets are installed at the upper water inlet points on the product body;

4. The overall waterproof rating of GIBO sensor faucet products reaches IPX5 or higher (splash-proof level), ensuring worry-free normal use;

5. For the Xiao Xi Bao Smart Faucet series featuring rechargeable designs, please ensure the charging port protective plug is tightly fitted to prevent water droplets from entering and corroding the charging port;

6. When cleaning the product, wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Do not rinse with water or use rough materials such as hemp cloth or steel wool, to avoid scratching the product surface or the sensing window;

GIBO Sensor Faucet Waterproof Rating Reference Standards:

Protection ratings are typically expressed using "IP" followed by two digits, where the numbers define the specific protection levels.
The first digit indicates the device's resistance to solid particles (dust) or the degree of protection against contact in sealed environments. It represents the level of protection against ingress of solid foreign objects, with 6 being the highest level;
The second digit indicates the device's waterproofing capability. It represents the level of protection against water ingress, with 8 being the highest level.
First Digit after IP: Dust Protection Level for Sensor Faucets
Digit
Protection Level
Description
0
No Protection
No special protection against external objects or persons.
1
Protection against solid objects larger than 50 mm
Prevents accidental contact with internal components by body parts (e.g., hands); protects against intrusion of large objects (>50 mm diameter).
2
Protection against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm
Prevents finger contact with internal components; protects against intrusion of medium-sized objects (>12.5 mm diameter).
3
Protection against solid objects larger than 2.5 mm
Prevents intrusion of tools, wires, and similar small objects (>2.5 mm diameter/thickness) from contacting internal components.
4
Protection against solid objects larger than 1.0 mm
Prevents intrusion of tools, wires, and similar small objects (>1.0 mm diameter/thickness) from contacting internal components.
5
Dust Protected
Fully protected against solid object intrusion. Dust may enter but not in sufficient quantity to interfere with normal operation.
6
Dust Tight
Completely protected against dust and solid object intrusion.
Second digit after IP: Water resistance rating for sensor sanitary ware
Number
Protection Range
Description
0
No protection
No special protection against water or moisture
1
Protection against dripping water
Vertically falling drops (e.g., condensation) will not cause damage to the electrical equipment
2
Protection against dripping water when tilted up to 15 degrees
When the equipment is tilted from vertical up to 15 degrees, dripping water will not cause damage
3
Protection against spraying water
Protection against rain or water sprayed at an angle less than 60 degrees from vertical causing damage to the equipment
4
Protection against splashing water
Protection against water splashed from any direction causing damage to the equipment
5
Protection against low-pressure water jets
Protection against low-pressure water jets for at least 3 minutes
6
Protection against powerful water jets
Protection against high-volume water jets for at least 3 minutes
7
Protection against immersion in water up to 1 meter
Protection against effects of immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes
8
Protection against continuous submersion in water beyond 1 meter
Protection against effects of continuous immersion in water deeper than 1 meter. Exact conditions are specified by the manufacturer for each device.
